Abortion

Postby Ginic on Wed Oct 01, 2008 3:12 pm

Yep, we are going there. This came up in the Let's Talk Politics thread and I thought it would be good to move it over here to get few other opinions in the pot.

*Please remember to BE NICE without demeaning anyone*

Here are some of the points and OPINIONS brought up so far:

    1) If abortion is outlawed in America that would cause…
      a. An increase in illegal abortions (usually very unsafe)
      b. Tax dollars to go to funding medical treatment for improperly performed abortion procedures
      c. Increase in child welfare cases (unwanted children tend to get abused/neglected)
    2) Church should focus most of their efforts to educating those seeking abortions through pregnancy counseling centers, hotlines, etc
    3) If this is really the ‘End Times’ isn’t the world just going to continue getting worse anyways?

Let get the discussion going!

Im glad this is being Posted. I had a similar conversation about this recently. Im curious to hear wisdom on this issue. While its easy to say no abortion what about the the responsibility of no abortion.
I'm also glad that the current state of the adoption system was pointed out. As well Let us consider how abortion laws will effect the constitution. When one civil liberty goes out the window that open the gate for more. Aswell how do we plan to enforce no abortion (police force is a good idea along with jail time). I am pro life but I just hate when people are pro life and don't know either the consequences or responsibilities. I am pro life but I'm more of a strategic pro life. Going to a rally is too easy especially when no one is loosing dogs and fire hoses on you. I pray someone introduces me to a pro life plan with wisdom.

I as well am glad that this topic has come up. I work with children in foster care, and the rates of children going into foster homes is only going to increase in the near future with group homes being closed down (due to ecomoy and lack of funding). I agree that it is going to be the responsibility of the church to step up and either adopt the babies or foster them. I think alot of people are screaming "no abortion" but are not screaming the solution. It's time for the church to truly be the church!

Hey guys, I would like to hear your thoughts on "the solution" and "a pro life plan with wisdom." I agree it would take a perfect world for us to just outlaw abortion & then everybody would be like, "Well, okay, I guess I'll just have to keep my baby and be a perfect parent then."

So what are some of your ideas on "the solution"?
