Well God has been giving me in a new revelation. Johnson talked about denying yourself and carrying your cross and following God. Yesterday I realize that sometimes we dont do that because if you read Matthew 16:21-25 Jesus tells Peter that he will suffer many things and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised from the dead. Peter rebukes him LOL , OKAY Peter rebukes God in the flesh because he said he will suffer and be killed but raised on the third day. Then Jesus told Satan to get behind him, which means Peter was under attack by Satan because satan didnt want Jesus to do that because of the glory it will bring. Jesus begin to tell Peter you dont have in mind the things of God but the things of men. In other words you arent mindful of the things of God Peter, you dont like suffering because you dont understand that suffering brings me glory. Alot of us dont understand that, we a quick to say this cant be from GOD because I am suffering and we get offended at GOD because we dont understand his leadership over our lives, we cant see the big picture and sometimes we give up and rob him of his glory. As soon as we suffer in our finances, jobs, relationship, persecution, etc we say its the enemy but sometimes its not its God building you up in strength and growing you in intimacy with him. I think carry your cross means you will suffer being a christian, people will say things to you and do things to you that you dont like and you have to suffer like JESUS did and live the sermon on the mount. He is a GOD man in the flesh and he was tempted in everyway and he didnt sin. Wow how amazing is that, he did it for us. Denying yourself is the key to surrendering fully to GOD. He wants lovesick wholehearted lovers. Patience plays a huge factor in denying yourself . I know we hate to think about denying ourselves and suffering but look what God has done for us through his suffering we have LIFE. So pick up your cross and run the race and embrace every moment and know the season you are in and ask for wisdom, understanding so you can be a light in the darkness, so you can stand before the lost ones and really say I know JESUS and he will deliver you in his love and mercy. Give God the opportunity to reveal himself and know that he has your best interest.
