Cultural Exchange and some Turkish Food

Postby jemiohe on Tue Jul 08, 2008 10:31 am

I have been in contact with a non-political Arab organization that educates the community about the Arab culture. They have invited our fusion group or all that is interested… in viewing a power point presentation on the Arab culture. 10% or more of all Arabs are Christians, which leaves an overwhelming majority to be non-Christians. One of the best ways to win converts to the truth…which is (Jesus Christ) is to learn about their culture. Cultural competency is Key. Learning about one’s culture shows that you have respect and interest in them and that is what open doors…believe me I have seen this first hand. Just like the apostle Paul said… you must became like someone to win them to Christ. 1 Corinthians 9:19-22 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men that I might by all means save some.

Afterwards we will head to a restaurant called Istanbul for some Turkish food and some belly dancing.

I plan to be there, this is really a great opportunity to get first hand experience with a different culture! I hope we can get a good bunch of people out there, it sounds like it will be fun too!
Be Blessed,
