Grief in China

Postby laura on Thu May 15, 2008 4:51 pm

A lot of times horrible disasters happen and we are left wondering, "Why?" & through all the confusion and anger we give up on God & His miraculous and mysterious ways to help and heal us.

I read this article in NY Times & it completely tore my heart apart:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/15/world/asia/15morgue.html?ex=1368590400&en=3cc26b2134589c6c&ei=5124&partner=permalink&exprod=permalink

This particular comment was so powerful:
“We didn’t find any bruises or injuries on her body,” said Ms. Hu, the mother. “But she lost all her nails. She was trying to scratch her way out. I think my daughter suffocated to death.”

I think that more than 19,000 have died already & I'm sure that there are more that have died but haven't been reported.

I pray for the healing of the Chinese parents who have lost their only children, for the children who unfortunately have died, and for those children who witnessed this horrible tragedy and survived, but are going to have to struggle through this the rest of their lives.

I also pray that China can survive through this hard time and that Jesus can present Himself to this terribly depressed country and show them that He is the light and that in His arms they can be restored.

Soooooo please read the article to find out more about the situation & the severity of it.
& please pray continually for those mourning in China and of course other places across the world.

I'm with you on that one Laura. It breaks my heart to read those stories & see what's happening in that area of the world.
