aight fam this is how it went down, me and lacy got paired up to go pray at gwinnett place. it was an awesome idea to begin with but to actually be doing this was nutts. i know i was feeling scared and exited. i had no idea what was going to happen. so we get to the mall and broke off into two's and 3's. we got into a quick prayer and it was time for (LIGHTS) so we started walking, lacy and i were looking at each other like your gonna talk first, naw your gonna talk first :) anyway it was all good once one of us broke the ice.
we began walking and we passed the first couple of people, then it was on... we targeted in on on this hispanic couple (though neither of us can speak spanish), we were going to go up and pray with them, but they were to fast for us and they got away, but in our persuit of them, we ran into a couple people standing there talking, one of them was a U.S. troop so we decided to start with him. we broke into the middle of a 3 way conversation with something corney like " are yall all family" :) they all looked at me crazy- lacy included... (CAMERA) then they said no why, well im eric and this is my friend lacy, and we were just walking around seeing if we could pray for any body, and since you look like your a trooper, we figured you might want some prayer? (ACTION) im fine was the reply of the whole group. no thanks. but what church are yall from? yada yada. so me and lacy bolted... and that first little bit of rejection was exactly what we needed to fuel the fire for whatever would come our way- good or bad.
I know it sparked something in lacy cause next we went into the baby jamborie store, it was empty except for 2 clerks. can i help you guys with something? well .. (as we we aproached the desk lacy broke in).. we were just wondering... can we.... pray for you? (action) responce from clerk #1 ARE YOU SERRIOUS? i mean really are you guys here to pray for me? Yes... would that be ok? clerk number 2 interupts i can always use some prayer, my mom just moved to florida... and my brother... and i just moved into a new house..... back to clerk #1 im a single mom with 2 kids and..... so lacy and i and the 2 ladies, joined hands in the jamborie and the 4 of us prayed together. Jesus entered the situation and everything changed. (lights) mountains were moved. faith was free'd, and a little foundation for a friendship was built between us and the clerks and the clerks and each other. as we left we heard a... please come back soon. come back and see us. javascript:emoticon(':D')
wow! i could go on and on.. about the people who said yes and the people who said no..uuummm im ok or no, ummm everything is fine with me, but on the other hand we got to shine out lights in the lives of alot of other people, for example, a salesman who was selling beds and for his family, we got to pray for a girl who was stuck in a job that she hated and was trying to make a carreer shift, she came from out behind the counter of the store so that she wouldnt be on camera :) we got to talk to a lady who had just been prayed for by some of the other peole that we were with and she was in tears :( she had left home, and it was a confirmation when we came to pray for her that she was saposed to go back. - her life was changed. we went to pray for a guy in a wheel chair but HE ALREADY BEEN PRAYED FOR by some of the other "Lights" who were scattered through out the mall... he thanked us all the same with an ear to ear smile and a firm hand shake. javascript:emoticon('')
my take home from the whole thing is that prayer has a way of lifting peoples burdens and giving them too the only one who can carry them...JEsus. it was so amazing to see lacy and the others who were there in action. In jesus name, meeting the needs of those where hurting and broken with the loving hands and words of Jesus. I made friends with a guy named razone, i gotta go back and see Him. The whole concept of prayer and building relationships for me shifted a little bit, as i realized that everyone has needs and hurts and that an ear to listen, combined with the passion to pray can literally change the course of a persons life forever. and that sometimes i need prayer as much as the people im praying for. (imagine that)
Is was a real blessing to be able to walk and talk with lacy, we got to do the work of Jesus side by side, and i am blessed to have her on my team. she is a awesome women of God. (LIGHT) i just thought i would let yall know how my night went, thats just the tip of the iceburg.
Lights, camera, action.
was out motto for the night.
Lights- thats us- with Christ inside.
Camera- thats each other and the world who need Him.
Action- Thats us doing what god's word says to do. living it out.
1,2,3. lights camera action! and im outy.-e :D
we living it out, together, come on!

I already told my story, but it doesn't hurt to tell it again.

So i was paired with David C. So we of course prayed before we took off. so we're walking around just looking at people. We were like how do you approach somebody? What do you say? So after a while of waling past people we're like okay, we gotta talk to someone. so we're walking past a kids shoe store and David's like let's go in here. So we walk in and and it's just a sales lady by herself. So we go up to her ans we're like we just wanted to know if we could pray for you. at first of course she looked at us weird, but once she realized we were serious he was like YES!! She was so excited about it. She told us her situation and she was like I've been praying about it, but i would appreciate you guys praying about it too. So we prayed and you could tell that she was really blessed by us coming. So we leave there. After our first experience being such a positive experience we were ready. It gave us all the motivation we needed. So we went and talk to someone at another store. She was like 'is it gonna be short?' we were like well, we can make it short...So we prayed and kept going. We ran into Leah and Anesh(sp) and we ended up joining together. We kept walking and I see a couple. I ask them if we could pray for them the male was really excited. He was like i just move here and am looking for a job. I just took a test to become a police officer, but i still need a job to hold me over until that goes through. So we pray for him. We say Amen and start to let go of hands, but he stops us and was like I want to pray. So he turned around and prayed for all of us. It was amazing.
This whole experience was a really good one. At first you're reluctant about being put outside of your comfort zone, but once you get positive reinforcement it just motivates you to keep going for it. You never realize how many people are going through things and really need prayer that we tend to just walk by everyday. This just helped to open my eyes to thing that I was totally oblivious to, things that never crossed my mind.

I went through the mall with Jasmine, and both of us were a little nervous since it was a new experience. First, we talked to a man named Alan, who asked us to pray for happiness in his life. Next, we came to a man named Muhammad and his son(Jasmine if you remember his name please post it here). We managed to open up to him through his son, but when we asked him if we could pray for him, he explained that he was a Muslim and did not feel comfortable with us praying for him.

Finally, we went into Macy(or was it JCPenny's? I hadn't been to Gwinnett Mall in a few years) and were trying to talk to a saleswoman. Jasmine asked her for some help with picking out plates so we could talk to her alone, but she kept directing us in different directions. We were pretty sure God wanted us to continue talking to her, so we kept on doing so. Finally, she directed us to a sales associate named Wendy, and said she could help us. Alarms instantly went off in both of our heads, and God told us this was the person we were supposed to pray for.

Lo and behold, Wendy was by herself, and we were able to ask her if she needed prayer. She was extremely excited to hear that we were praying for people, and even had us pray for her daughter Rachel, who had twins on the way. Not only that, but she was living in Memphis and, Wendy wanted her to return to Atlanta. Although Wendy had to get back to work so she wouldn't be in trouble, both of us prayed for her after she left.

If there's one thing I got out of this, it's that God works in ways you don't expect Him to. You might think you know where God is steering you, but at the last minute He'll change your direction.
