Does anybody out there know what is involved in setting up a non-profit??

You'll need a lawyer - can't do this on your own and still be legally viable.

You're looking at a 501(c)3 - so start doing your research. And get with Darrell - I would actually get some time with Gary first though...

there's also StartChurch; a business that helps non-profits get legal. my bff works there. it's based out of lawrenceville.

I think it can be done on your own. Dede and I had several books about non-profits and they point it out very plainly for you... but they do warn about making sure all your ducks are in a row. The IRS can destroy you and ... sometimes for the thrill of the kill. A lawyer can always be contact to look over your paper work before you submit it to the IRS for the FIN. (Fed ID Number) Hope this helps.
