Together for Change - Marrieds Group

Postby MikeRob on Fri Feb 22, 2008 9:23 pm

Hello Gang,
My wife Sabrina and I just wanted to take advantage of this little corner of cyberspace to share our happenings within our group as well as with others. Testimonies, prayer requests...whatever...bring em on out, couples. It's all for the glory of an awesome thing God created called marriage. Just keep it clean....ya know!?! Only kidding...kind of.

Your friends,
Sabrina and Mike Robertson

Together for Change - Update Letter #1 - Feb 25, 2007

Postby MikeRob on Mon Feb 25, 2008 12:10 pm

Hello Friends,

This past Wednesday was such a great time of food and fellowship with you all. It was cool to get to know ya'll better and see some of our friends meet some of our other friends and begin to form a bond. Sabrina and I just wanted to thank you for your participation. We hope you all got as much out of it as we did. It was awesome to see how God began to show us how we can all come together and unite for change, just as the Bible talks about in Acts 2:42.

For those of you who missed out on Fusion's broomball get-together on Friday, it was a blast - Even though some of you witnessed me almost destroy my shoulder on the ice....ouch!! But dont worry, it feels a lot better now :o) thank God.

Just to let you know, there are a few couples who have expressed a desire to join our Together for Change marriage group but were unable to be at the ice breaker gathering this past Wednesday night. Please pray that as we are faithful in what God would have us all do, that He will add unto our numbers. Sabrina and I are so excited about the positive impact that will come from this group, and really want to do our part in making it a success.

Look for an Evite later today for our next meeting time and place.

Best wishes,

The Robertsons

Just wanted to let out married group know that Carl was suffering from chest pains on saturday. It was determined, that it is probably not heart related. They believe that it is a condition that causes pressure in your chest and a symptom of increased pain with movement. Also when they did the x-ray they noticed that his heart looked a little enlarged. they don't know if that is is really enlarged or if it is a bad xray. So they are sending him to a cardiologist. His appointment is for tomorrow (Tuesday) morning @ 7:30. Keep him in your prayers please. Thanks

Hey guys! Don't know if you saw my reply on the prayer request for Carl. The doctor did a stress test and said everything looks normal. He will have an ultrasound in the middle of March just to be safe. Thanks for your prayers and support!!

Greetings All!

I'm so happy that married couples are coming together to grow closer to God and build friendships amongst each other. It feels great to know that Mike and I are getting to know such great people within our small group and through Fusion. It took a while for me to adjust to Atlanta, but I'm glad to call this place my new home.

Shannon, thanks for coming Friday. Mike and I are glad Carl is doing better and congrats on the new place. Polly, I'm praying and believing God with you for a new job. With God all things all possible to them that believe.

Thanks for everyone that came out to our last group meeting. We definitely look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting. Everyone should be receiving an email and phone call about our upcoming meeting. We will be discussing our first major community outreach project. Have a fantastic week and please pray for me as I take 29 of my choral students to be judged for Choral Performance Evaluation this Friday. Love you guys!

Hello Team of Married Friends,

This past group meeting was great...not just because of the pizza, although it was quite tasty. Sabrina and I really enjoyed hearing you all share your input on community outreach. We hope that God's calling on all our lives has made it deeper into our hearts. Remember the charge made in 1 Timothy 6:17-18.

We have heard a lot of positive feedback regarding the direction of the group - Sabrina and I want to thank all those who have dedicated themselves to being Together for Change.

Please take advantage of the contact list that Farrah sent out. This will help us in staying in touch with one another for prayer requests, couple2couple meetings, and any other contact needs. Lets make it our weekend goal to contact someone we have not previously called or emailed before- perhaps to get together at church this weekend with another couple.

Best wishes, everyone.

Our recent time with ya'll in our Together for Change meeting was time well spent. Hold on to the things we discovered and make God's plans for your marriage a reality.

We are so glad it is you all that we are walking this thing out with. If you were with us on Friday, you know that it was a special turning-point towards the place where God has called us to be....We challege all couples to begin inviting the group's vision statement into a special place in your hearts and in your lives. Lets all meditate on Acts 2:42 asking ourselves if this is what our lives look like.

If you were unable to make it to the last group meeting, you should have received an email with the attachments. Make sure to devote the necessary time for the prayer needs requested by group members. If anyone needs prayer for anything that is troubling them, don't hesitate to call Sabrina and I or any group member. Lets make absolutely sure to call each and every couple before the next group meeting. Sabrina and I wil be checking this as an acountability measure.

We love you all and pray that God continues to do wonderful things in your marriages. Stay encouraged and trust in the Lord and He will direct your paths. May the blessing of your mariage shine brightly upon this darkened world.

ChickChat

Postby sketchum on Sat Jul 12, 2008 11:25 pm

I just wanted to pass along how much I enjoyed going to ChickChat with the ladies of our small group. It was a great time to get together and learn from Pastor C. I have so much enjoyed our group. I am loving getting know so many other married couples. Love having community with the marrieds. Mike and Sabrina, thanks for all you do. You have been a true blessing!!!

You might have seen the prayer request I put on the prayer request section of the forum....one of my friends in Florida is going through a separatioin with her husband and they have two children. Please join in prayer for Heather with me. We all know that God can restore any marriage, and He does not want families torn apart.

I love you guys!!!!

Have a great week!!
