Prayer request for Army Young Adults

Postby stephaniejohnson on Thu Jul 17, 2008 1:59 pm

This never really crossed by mind until I saw I this story on CNN about a unit of soldiers killed in Afghanistan. http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/0 ... index.html. The story is what it is, but what got me was when they listed the names of the people that died with their ages.

1st Lt. Jonathan P. Brostrom, 24, of Aiea, Hawaii.
• Sgt. Israel Garcia, 24, of Long Beach, California.
• Cpl. Jonathan R. Ayers, 24, of Snellville, Georgia.
• Cpl. Jason M. Bogar, 25, of Seattle, Washington.
• Cpl. Jason D. Hovater, 24, of Clinton, Tennessee.
• Cpl. Matthew B. Phillips, 27, of Jasper, Georgia.
• Cpl. Pruitt A. Rainey, 22, of Haw River, North Carolina.
• Cpl. Gunnar W. Zwilling, 20, of Florissant, Missouri.
• Pfc. Sergio S. Abad, 21, of Morganfield, Kentucky.

Not a single person over thirty and only one over twenty-five. It just got to me so I wanted to put it out their for people to pray for those in the army to know love of God and for his protection.

And 2 from Georgia.

There are struggles going on all over the world and it's too easy to sit back and complain about gas prices while the rest of the world fights for survival. Thanks for bringing this back to our attention Stephanie.

I think it has spiritual implications too. People are dying for the faith & fighting spiritual battles all around the world. Are we in the fight? Because there is a war going on.
