Funny Thought...

Postby Jose.Ferrell on Mon Mar 03, 2008 5:24 pm

So I was in my Fusion Community and we were talking about Peter and how he walked out on the water when he saw Jesus and Jesus called to him. And, as you know, Peter falls and Jesus saves him and the story goes on.

Now... I wonder, because I highly doubt this is in the Bible, but I wonder if say a day, week, or month later if Peter tried again. You know? Like the disciples all wake up in the morning and see some figure out by the shore line walking in and out of the water meanwhile flailing his arms in the air as he's walking back. I mean what do you think?

I'm sure he wasn't singing this song in his head while he was (if he was):
"If at first you don't succeed, "dry" yourself off and try again, try again"

lol

But really, do you think he would've been trying again? Do you think you would've tried again?

Just a thought.

Absolutely. Even if I had only taken one step the first time...I would do it every day. I think that's the same thing with anything miraculous. If I legitimately raised someone from the dead...I would walk around doing it every day. No one could convince me otherwise. I'm sure Peter tried it again...but I think he was pretty busy healing people too and preaching (the whole Acts thing...saving 3,000 people)

Nah, I doubt it. I think Peter was smart enough to realize that you don't get out the boat unless Jesus calls you first. 8) 8)

LOL, yeah I got to agree with Wendell!
A generation relentlessly going after GOD in intimacy through prayer.

Yea, but Jesus was on a mission. He can't keep pulling Peter out of the water all over the place all willy-nilly. He'd be like "Yo' Pete! I got people to heal, Devils to stomp, a cross to die on. Ya blew it kid, now I still got faith in ya. But ya holding me up here."
