"Today's Seed" - Jan. 21, 2009

Joshua and the leaders of Israel tore their clothing in dismay,
threw dust on their heads, and bowed down facing the Ark of the LORD
until evening. Then Joshua cried out, "Sovereign LORD, why did you
bring us across the Jordan River if you are going to let the
Amorites kill us? If only we had been content to stay on the other
side! But the LORD said to Joshua, "Get up! Why are you lying on
your face like this? (Josh 7:6,7,10 NLT)

Prayer: LORD, unexpected difficulties can cause feelings of
disappointment and even paralyzing depression like Joshua
experienced. Give me courage to look up to You instead of looking
down at my problems. In time, I can overcome those feelings by
trusting the reality of Your unconditional love and unfailing
promises. Help me get up - with You - and walk through them rather
than being overwhelmed by them. In Jesus' name, Amen.
