I think that someone has been paying attention to the message boards, because last night's service had a "theme praise"

very hype about it
I wouldn't do it if I didn't love you.

David Glenn?

Postby pollybyrd on Fri Mar 28, 2008 4:53 pm

What about David Glenn? Does anybody know him? He's from this Baptist Church at Briarlake, I have one of his albums called Turn to You, is pretty good. I love all the 3 songs in this album, yes there is only 3 songs: Turn to You, To be Love and Like the Angels.

Turn to You

I turn away from this world today and I turn to You
I want nothing less than Your righteousness so I turn to You
I turn away from this world today and I turn to You
I want nothing less than Your very best so I turn to You ...

To Be Love

Captured by Your love and saved by Your grace
Though I deserve the cross You took my place
And I'll never understand this life You give so free
How You bled and died just for me

A thousand angels singing praise to You
Could not express my gratitude
For all You've done for me

I just want to be like You
And love the world the way You do
Help me to Be love Help me to Be love
I want to be Your hands and feet
with all I am and ever want to be Lord
Help me to Be love Help me to Be love like You ...

It's really good! I was part of the worship group in my church back in Brazil and we used to study the lyrics of each song before we pass to the church and the American authors/artists are really good on that, but sometimes we still have to change a little to no bring a wrong concept and go against the vision of our church.

I would love to hear some of the "gospel" type music. Artists like Smokie Norful, Vicki Yoh'e, Fred Hammond, etc. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy and can easily praise with the music usually played. But as a multi-cultural church I think there should be more variety. And I agree with Avery with saying a lot of those songs are very repetitive, which can be a good or a bad thing.

Heard ya Gospel type music. I second that notion, I remember once we did "When I think about Jesus, and what He's done for me" It was SO TIGHT.
I literally praised so hard that I could not stand afterwards.
I wouldn't do it if I didn't love you.
